SENIORS | Alexandra, Liberty University Class of 2014

So, what is there to say about this senior portrait session?  Why might I say that to start off - because there is literally TOO much to say!  This senior is pretty special to me and Jae Studios!  Alexandra is my youngest sister and the last in our family to finally graduate from college!

I have three younger sisters and surprisingly, Alex and I are the most alike.  We've always been close since we were young.  Since her junior year in college, she's lived with my husband and I as she finished her program here in Lynchburg. In fact, my husband says we are so alike it's like having two of me!

This spring she graduated from Liberty University with her Bachelor's degree in Nursing!  To be honest, when she first said she wanted to be a nurse in high school I was skeptical.  Handling blood and crazy injuries, giving out shots, I figured she'd decide it wasn't for her.  She completely proved me wrong!  She studied hard and she is so looking forward to being a nurse!  Bring on those NCLEX exams!

Alex has appeared on the blog formally two different times (Here and Here!).  However, this girl has appeared informally pretty much everywhere else (Facebook profile pics anyone!).   Sometimes, she wants to shoot more than me!  On a serious note though, congratulations on your graduation sis!  We're proud of you!

WEDDINGS | John & Bridget - a rustic light blue summer wedding in Vermont - Part 2

Here is the second part of John & Bridget's wedding day story!  We are picking up right after the ceremony!  If you missed part 1, you can catch up here!

Bridget had been planning this wedding since last July and her preparations came out beautifully!  There were so many wonderful rustic details - wildflowers to line the burlap runner for the ceremony aisle, centerpieces of candles, mason jars, and more flowers! Individual photographs of John & Bridget (which we took as part of their engagement session) numbered the tables to denote the seating arrangements. 

All the friends and family were thrilled to be there to support these two on their wedding day as well!  The entire wedding day I heard families’ say wonderful things about their relationship and how well suited they are for one another!  We had a ton of time to do lots of portraits (which I love) of course!  The bridal party was fantastic and we had a great time!

Their reception was just non-stop!  The guests were treated to a super tasty taco bar dinner and later the wedding cake made by the mother of the bride herself.   After heartfelt toasts from the fathers', best men, and maids of honor, John & Bridget had their first dance.  Once the dance floor was open, everybody finished off the night rocking on the dance floor and a sparkler exit!  So without further ado, part two of their wedding day!

WEDDING | John & Bridget - a rustic light blue summer wedding in Vermont - Part 1

From here on, I am going to start a new tradition with posting weddings on my blog!  It is always so hard to narrow down all the wonderful images from each wedding!  So, I'm going to try sharing weddings in two posts rather than one! 

It was an absolute honor to be asked to photograph John & Bridget's wedding!  We photographed their engagement session in January and it was a little chilly!  In contrast, the weather for their 4th of July weekend wedding was perfect!  The temperature was great and the light for portraits was fantastic!  The Country Club of Barre set in Bridget's home state of Vermont was truly wonderful!  The mountains, manicured golf greens, rolling hills, pine trees, and a picturesque pond near the clubhouse were a beautiful setting!

I had the wonderful company of Katrina, of K.leigh Photography from Connecticut as my second photographer.  Thanks for all your help!  If you are in the southeastern Connecticut area, check her out!  We started the day at Bridget's family home just a few minutes away from the country club. Bridget was a really relaxed bride!  She was utterly excited about getting married to the man she loves and just couldn't wait to walk down the aisle!  Bridget had a fantastic bridal party that was extremely helpful and supportive all day!  Having been a bride myself, I know how much of a blessing that is!
